Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF), in collaboration with the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), is pleased to announce the launch of the third cycle of their joint funding program on Academia – Industry Cooperation on Smart Cities.
In this call, QNRF will fund up to US $250,000 per project per year for up to 3 years whereas TÜBITAK will fund up to 4 million Turkish Liras (excl. overhead and Project Incentive Premium (PIP)) per project. QNRF and TÜBİTAK will cover the costs of their respective country’s teams.
The proposal must be within one or more of the following research priority areas;
- Smart Energy
- Smart Environment
- Smart Healthcare
- Smart Logistics
- Smart Security
- Smart Sport
- Smart Transportation
Smart Transportation It is a prerequisite that proposals include the participation of at least one Qatari research institution/university and one Turkish research institution/university/training and research hospital, as well as, at least one Turkish commercial company and one Qatari commercial company or research end user for Academia-Industry Cooperation proposals as submitting and collaborative institutions. Turkish and Qatar-based teams must each be led by a Lead Principal Investigator (LPI).
How to apply?
- The Qatar – based LPI needs to register with QNRF through www.qgrants.org.
- Project coordinator needs to be identified to be either the Qatar-based LPI or the Turkey-based LPI and will be responsible for coordinating the joint application.
- Turkey and Qatar-based LPs will prepare their joint application offline and each of them will submit it online to their respective funding agencies.
